A handmade copper enamel torc necklace with a woven, tweed-inspired design. Bold orange lines cross diagonally over bands of sky blue, soft green and white, while patches of bare copper show through at the top and edges. Each pendant is torch-fired in my East Cork studio, near Cobh in Ireland. The top layer of enamel was deliberately left not fully fired, which gives the surface a speckled, textured finish, like the flecks in Irish tweed. No two pieces come out the same. The round enamel pendant hangs from a rigid 17.5" torc-style collar, so it sits neatly at the base of the neck without a chain or clasp. It's a statement piece that looks lovely over plain knits and open collars.
